To bring sustainability to the built environment by helping building owners reduce operational costs and increase occupant productivity through improved indoor environmental quality, increased energy efficiency, and a reduced environmental footprint of the enterprise.
Philosophy
People cannot control nature, but we do have the potential to control our impact on the natural environment and this impact has a direct connection to our wellbeing and way of life.
Sustainable design attempts to stabilize the natural environment while regenerative design practices work to bring about environmental healing through built environments. HBEC works with the design team (including owner and contractor) to develop the owner’s project requirements as the basis for facility programming and design, and to define the building systems.
Our goal is to achieve a consensus about a design and cost that meets the project requirements, satisfies the needs of the building occupants, and reduces human impact on the environment.
A building is not a collection of systems, but an integrated system of components.
